
Two area residents are facing multiple charges following a vehicle pursuit which resulted in a drug seizure last Friday afternoon. 27-year-old Timothy M. Belongie of Two Rivers is charged with possession of crystal methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia while 32-year-old Ashley N. Monroy of Kewaunee is charged with Felony Fleeing an Officer, Possession of crystal meth with intent to deliver, Possession of a schedule two narcotic and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Deputy initiated a traffic stop at 4:35 p.m. on State Highway 310 west of County Highway B when a passenger identified as Belongie exited the vehicle fleeing on foot into the Knollwood Cemetery, only to reenter the vehicle driven by Monroy. She proceeded south on County Highway Q reaching speeds in excess of 100 miles-per-hour before losing control in a ditch near Goodwin Road. Both suspects then fled on foot and were apprehended a short time later and taken into custody without incident.
Nearly 46 grams of crystal meth were located in the vehicle. Both defendants were both issued recognizance bonds this afternoon but remain in the County Jail on probation holds. Belongie’s initial appearance is set for next Monday at 1:30 while Monroy is due back in court for her initial appearance August 10th at 1:30.
