Alliant Energy and Madison Gas and Electric report thousands of customers were left without power Thursday when a series of strong storms passed through southern Wisconsin.
Damage reports are still coming in.
Utilities say the Delavan, Janesville, Sauk City and Mazomanie areas were hit the hardest.
About 3,000 customers were left without service late Thursday night. Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for Dodge, Columbia, Dane, Marquette, Sauk and Iowa counties.
Heavy rain and high winds were reported, but no serious injuries.
