The N-F-L Network reports the league is working with the players’ union on an opt-out provision for the upcoming season.
This would protect players who decide to sit out the 2020 season due to their concerns about COVID-19.
The provision would be in place for players with pre-existing conditions, family members with pre-existing conditions, and those with general concerns over the pandemic.
General managers were told this week there would be a specific date by which those players would need to formalize their decision to opt-out.
That date hasn’t been determined yet.
