The Manitowoc Bandits improved their record to 4-and-2 overall, three and oh in the Shoreland League last night, but it certainly wasn’t easy.
The Bandits nipped the Branch Blaze 5-to-4 in 12-innings at Municipal Field. The nearly 3-and-a-half hour game ended with a walk-off walk issued to Trent Van Ess with one out and the bases loaded to end it in the bottom of the 12th.
The Bandits had trailed most of the game until a 3-run 8th tied it.
Luke Mandich was the winning pitcher in relief and Bryce Henninger suffered the loss. Manitowoc starter, Adam Diedrich struckout 10 in just 5-innings, while Blaze starting pitcher, A-J Lorrigan, worked the first 9 and mixed his pitches well much of the night.
The Bandits will host the Menasha Macs tomorrow night at Municipal Field in a game to be broadcast on 107.9 FM WOMT and WOMTRadio.com, starting at 7:15.
