Eastern Wisconsin has been going through a heat wave over the past week or so, and that has wreaked havoc on those work outside all day.
One of those groups of people are the County Highway workers, who Manitowoc Count Executive Bob Zigelbauer praised for their willingness to fix our roadways despite the scorching heat.
He told SeehaferNews.com, “We talk about it when it’s very cold, but when it’s very hot it’s oppressive too. We really appreciate the people that work on the roof, and on the highway.”
As for what exactly is getting done throughout the county the County Executive said, “We have about 14 miles of road resurfacing that will be done this summer…We are more than half done. We built a bridge on County Trunk S that’s operating already, and we continue to do maintenance. We have an aggressive highway program every year, and this is a normal year.”
While it is not a County project, the Waldo Boulevard project in Manitowoc is looking to be completed in the month of October, which is just a little ahead of schedule.
