Legislation has been passed to help restrict the invasion of Asian carp, and was introduced by Wisconsin Congressmen Glenn Grothman and Marc Pocan.
Grothman is a Republican from Glenbeulah who represents the second district, including Manitowoc County. Pocan is a Madison Democrat.
The two introduced an amendment to an infrastructure bill. Grothman says the amendment will allow the Secretary of Commerce and Secretary of the Interior to consider threats posed by invasive species before mandating a new fish passageway be built through a dam.
