The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has released an estimate of the general school aids each public school district will receive for the 2020-’21 school year.
Estimated general school aids total $4.9-billion, representing a $163.5 million, or 3.5% increase over last year Among local and area school districts, Manitowoc’s amount of general aid is forecast at $35.8 million, almost 5% more than last school year.
The Two Rivers estimate is $14.2-million, or nearly 4% higher than 2019-’20. The
Valders School District expects to receive about a 5.5% bump in a general aid payment to $5.4-million.
Mishicot is slated to receive $5.2 million dollars, which marks an 8.3% hike.
Reedsville is in line for a $4.3-million payment which is down fractionally from last school year.
Estimated amounts are subject to change because they’re based on budgeted, not audited school district data. The D-P-I will certify amounts for the new school year in mid-October with general school aids based on audited data & the state’s appropriation.
