While the details are rather scarce, the Sheboygan Police Department has confirmed that an officer was involved in a shooting incident early this morning.
According to the release, officers were sent to the intersection of South 15th Street and Illinois Avenue just before 6:00 this morning on a disturbance call. It is unclear what happened, but one officer discharged his weapon.
The public is being asked to avoid the area. More details will be released later today.
