The reconstruction of Maritime Drive in Manitowoc from N. 6th St. to Buffalo Street is scheduled to start on Wednesday, July 8th.
According to Greg Minikel from the City Engineering Department, the northbound lanes will remain open throughout the entire project, but the southbound lanes will have several restrictions.
There will be no access to Buffalo Street, but will be able to get to the Blue Rail Beach Parking Lot, Manitowoc Marina, and the YMCA.
Minikel also said that motorists that normally use Maritime Dr. southbound and need to get into the downtown area south of the Manitowoc River, will need to use alternate routes such as Waldo Blvd. to N. 11th St.
It is anticipated that the project will be completed and reopened to full traffic around September 11th.
