A Manitowoc woman was taken into police custody last night after her girlfriend told officers she had pushed and punched her.
Officers arrived at the shared home of the couple, located in the 900 block of North 9th Street, at around 10:30 PM. The victim told officers that she had gone out to drink with her 38 year old girlfriend that night, but came home before she did and went to bed.
When the suspect came home, she allegedly kicked in the door to their room, and began yelling at her. When the victim attempted to leave the room, the suspect pushed her to the ground and punched her multiple times.
While officers were speaking with the victim, the suspect began yelling at her, so officers attempted to take her into custody. Police reports indicate that she was resistant to the arrest, pulling her arms away from the officers, and attempting to get out of the squad car.
She is now facing charges of Battery and Disorderly Conduct, each with Domestic Violence Orders, and Resisting an Officer.
