In anticipation of the 4th of July holiday this weekend, the City of Manitowoc has provided some guidance as to what event-goers can expect, and the precautions people may wish to consider.
The annual 4th of July Parade will begin at 10:00 AM, starting at the corner of Washington Street and South 8th Street. The floats will travel north on 8th Street, before taking a right on Maritime Drive, and continuing on to Waldo Boulevard, where the parade will end.
The route was extended to allow for people to maintain social distancing while still enjoying the yearly tradition.
Then at 9:30 PM, the fireworks show, presented by Festival Foods will begin. The fireworks will be launched from a platform on Lake Michigan just south of the lighthouse.
