Janesville police say an internal investigation has confirmed an officer’s use of deadly force was proper and ethical last March.
The findings were announced Monday. The incident was captured on a body cam.
It was determined the shots fired by Officer Lyle Hollingshead were consistent with department policy. Christian Cargill of Owasso, Oklahoma was fatally wounded after losing control of his pickup and trailer and crashed along Highway 14.
Non-lethal interventions didn’t work as Cargill continued to ignore all of the officers’ commands.
