A protester who was arrested June 2nd is suing the city of Milwaukee, saying police officers violated his constitutional rights while they were taking him into custody.
Cameron Murdoch says he could hear people yelling and he felt the pressure on his neck. He calls the experience “scary and confusing.”
Bystanders recorded video of the arrest.
Milwaukee’s Common Council has called for an investigation and police say the incident is being reviewed. Murdoch’s attorneys filed notices of claim and circumstance last week.
The city has 120 days to respond before the formal lawsuit can be filed.
