After confirming that an employee has tested positive for COVID-19, Shady Lane of Manitowoc has announced that their Drive-By Resident Parade scheduled for July second has been canceled.
Shady Lane has stated that the person is currently in quarantine in accordance with the procedures and protocols established by the CDC and the Department of Health.
A representative said in a release that the staff is, “working in close coordination with local health officials to follow the protocols in place to halt and minimize the spread of the virus. The person will continue to be monitored.”
The release also states, “Shady Lane has been extremely proactive over the past few months to ensure that we would be prepared to support anyone impacted by the virus. We have communicated with our staff to reinforce safety protocols and continue to follow each of them and remain focused on the safety of our staff and residents.”
If needed, they have also created a separate unit, with designated staff to care for any residents that would be diagnosed with COVID-19.
No word on whether the Drive-By Resident Parade will be rescheduled.
