Milwaukee boxer Javier Martinez will make his professional debut as a middleweight in Las Vegas June 30th.
The 24-year-old is ranked number one at 165 pounds by U-S-A Boxing in the Elite Division.
He signed a multi-year contract with Top Rank promotions after being left behind by the U-S Olympic team – despite beating the competitor who took his slot, twice.
Martinez is trying to become the second Milwaukee native to win a professional boxing world title 98 years after Pinky Mitchell was named junior welterweight world champ.
