The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association decides Wednesday whether to make girls wrestling a sanctioned sport.
Only two girls have qualified for the state wrestling tournament since the competition started eight decades ago. Alyssa Lampe of Tomahawk High School was the first in 2004.
Support for the approval is growing with about 120 superintendents signing a petition of support.
