A man was arrested over the weekend in Manitowoc after he attempted to rob a bar at gunpoint.
Officers were dispatched to Replayed Bar, located at 1502 Madison Street, at 9:15 PM on Saturday on a report of the robbery in progress.
Witnesses and the bartender explained that the suspect, a 21 year old man, was at the bar half an hour prior, and came back to confront the bartender who was outside. He held a gun to her, and demanded all the money in the till.
He then went down the bar, taking all the money the patrons had on hand, until he got to the last person. That individual was able to grab the man’s arm, and struggled the weapon away from him.
It turned out that the weapon he had was actually a pellet gun, and not an actual firearm.
When the officers arrived, the man had to be tased, but continued to resist when the officers attempted to place him in handcuffs. They were eventually successful, and the man is now facing charges of Resisting an Officer, Misdemeanor Bail Jumping and six Counts of Robbery.
