Following the cancelation of the Manitowoc County Fair, County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer discussed the cancellation with SeehaferNews.com last week and explained the reasons behind the decision.
He said “Many stands were concerned about losing volunteers to staff the stands, a couple of bands had already canceled their performances, and the basic thing, we couldn’t provide a safe environment for everyone.”
He went on to defend the decision, saying “The Expo Board, I think, did the responsible thing in canceling the County Fair for this year only.”
The Fair is the largest single event in Manitowoc County each year, and joins a host of other civic and cultural events in being canceled for this year
