At their state executive committee meeting this morning, Boys and Girls Club Chief Executive Officers from across Wisconsin voted to support a list of actions steps, stating “It is time to do the work of dismantling systemic racism.”
Wisconsin clubs serve more youth per person than any other state in the country, with 154 locations across 58 cities, including Manitowoc County.
Over 144,000 youth use their sites every year, and seven out of every ten club kids from across the state are a racial or ethnic minority.
State Director Andy Gussert said in a news release, “We need our youth to know: You matter, your dreams matter, and your life matters.”
