A Dane County judge has ruled an 18-year-old woman who shot her friend in the face won’t have to spend any more time in jail.
Prosecutors had asked the court to require Kennedy DeNoble to serve another six months for her role in the accident. She pleaded guilty last March to injury by negligent use of a weapon.
When DeNoble pays restitution and court costs, she can ask to have the felony conviction expunged from her record.
Gregory Hampton Junior has had multiple surgeries and has spent three months in the hospital.
His mother says he has a long way to go toward recovery.
