Three of the four persons involved in a fatal crash Sunday in Wood County were from Manitowoc.
According to a news release from the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, the man killed in the collision between a car and a dump truck was identified as 32-year old William P. Walsdorf of Manitowoc.
Walsdorf was a passenger in the car that was hit by the truck just before noon Sunday at the intersection of State Highways 73 and 186 in the Town of Sigel. He was pronounced dead at the scene after the dump truck driver, 70-year old Ronald Gallon of Stevens Point, failed to yield from the stop sign for the westbound auto on Highway 73.
Gallon sustained only minor injuries..but the driver of the car identified as 28-year old Courtney L. Weichart & her other passenger, 4-year old Dominic R. Weichart of Manitowoc, received serious injuries & are hospitalized in Marshfield after being trapped in the wreckage.
