The City of Manitowoc is continuing to try and bring people together in a safe way, this time with an outdoor movie night.
Mayor Justin Nickels went to Facebook to announce the event, which will take place on July 3rd at Washington Park. He said in the post that people should, “Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and socially distance in the park as the movie plays on the large screen on the stage. Food trucks will also be available.”
Fittingly, the movie they chose to play is Independence Day. The City will also be airing a 150th Anniversary video beforehand as well. That video will start at 8:00 with the feature film beginning at 8:30 p.m.
This is the first of several such movie nights. The mayor hinted at the next film saying “get your poodle skirt and leather jacket out and be prepared to enjoy some ‘summer nights’.”
