A 33-year-old Manitowoc man facing multiple drug and traffic charges after fleeing police will return to Manitowoc County Circuit Court later this month. A request for a preliminary hearing was made and granted in the case against Christopher L. Ducat during an Initial court appearance this afternoon.
Police responded to a citizen call the morning of June 9th about a man passed out in his vehicle in the parking lot of the Cedar Grove Drive Apartments. Ducat fled from officers and approached the roundabout at the intersection of Waldo Boulevard and Memorial Drive at a high rate of speed when he failed to turn launching off the intersection, going airborne and nearly striking a citizen walking a dog. Ducat fled on foot and was found a short time later hiding under the Little Manitowoc River Bridge where he was taken into custody without incident. No one was injured.
He remains in the County Jail on $20 thousand cash bail and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 24th at 1:30.
