A Milwaukee group that supports the immigrant population is calling for Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos to step down.
Voces de la Frontera is criticizing the Republican politician for saying that the immigrant culture in Racine County is to blame for COVID-19 outbreaks there. His comments were secretly recorded during a teleconference with Governor Tony Evers.
Vos has said people should listen to his entire comments and “not a sensationalist headline.” He says communities of color are disproportionately affected by the virus, adding, “That’s science.”
