Bail is set at $20,000 cash for a 33-year-old Manitowoc man facing multiple charges after fleeing police with his vehicle ending up airborne at a city roundabout. Christopher L. Ducat is charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired, First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Obstructing an Officer, Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to deliver, Possession of Fentanyl with intent to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a Probation Hold.
Police responded to a citizen call Tuesday morning about a man passed out in a vehicle in the parking lot of the Cedar Grove Drive Apartments. Ducat fled from officers and approached the roundabout at the intersection of Waldo Boulevard and Memorial Drive at a high rate of speed. He failed to turn, launching off the intersection going airborne and nearly striking a citizen walking a dog.
The Manitowoc man fled on foot and was found a short time later hiding under the Little Manitowoc River Bridge where he was taken into custody without incident. No one was injured.
Conditions of bail are that Ducat maintain absolute sobriety, not possess any drugs and report to MPD for photos and prints, plus provide an address to the court upon release. He remains in the County Jail with his initial appearance scheduled for June 15th at 1:30.
