An 89-year-old Sturgeon Bay woman is dead and five others including a 64-year-old Maribel woman were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday in the Door County Village of Sister Bay.
Sheriff’s Officials say they responded to the call just after 1 p.m. on South Bay Shore Drive as a 75-year old Janesville man crossed the center line and struck a second vehicle driven by the Maribel woman head-on.
She-along with the driver and two passengers in the man’s vehicle were taken to a hospital while the 89-year-old Sturgeon Bay woman, a passenger in the Manitowoc County woman’s vehicle, died from her injuries.
A second passenger in that vehicle was also taken to the hospital. Names of those involved and their conditions have not been released.
The road was closed for more than six hours before being reopened at 7:20 p.m. Sunday night.
