The Confined Disposal Facility near the Manitowoc Marina will be closed to the public, beginning Tuesday, June 9th.
City Planner Paul Braun tells SeehaferNews.com this means that access to the dog run and lighthouse will be closed. Braun explains the temporary closing of the CDF allows the Army Corps of Engineering to perform some needed work on the facility.
The city planner says the work being done is adding stone armor protection to prevent high lake water from inundating the structure and to construct a haul-route for off-loading dredge material.
Braun said the site may re-open to the public on or about July 15th.
Meanwhile, the city official says the south breakwater pier will be reopened to the public.
