The Green Bay City Council gathered yesterday, and determined that the curfew needed to be extended to Monday morning.
Residents are being asked to stay home between the hours of 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM, after downtown storefronts were vandalized, and a gas station was looted earlier this week.
City leaders heard arguments from both Police Chief Andrew Smith, who recommended it, and citizens opposing the curfew, but decided to extend it. Smith said it would help curb criminal activity, while those in opposition said it will make people feel even more oppressed.
Police action will be directed towards people who are gathering as a mass and/or are engaged in illegal conduct, and will be imposed on all residents, regardless of age.
