A shorter Major League Baseball season would benefit teams like the Brewers – weak starting rotation, but lock-down bullpen.
The best Milwaukee arms reside among the late-inning crew, headed by closer Josh Hader.
The major league owners suggested an 82-game season, then the players countered with 114. Now, it looks like the goal might be a 50-game season, with a long post-season.
That would let Milwaukee rely on Hader, Knebel and others to shorten the game, require starters to go six innings or less – and depend on the powerful lineup to score a lot of runs early.
