On May 27, 2020 at approximately 10:37 PM the Appleton Police Department requested the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol Northeast Region for a one-vehicle crash that had taken place in their jurisdiction.
The operator of the vehicle involved, Jason P. Zastrow (46) of Appleton, struck a house in the City of Appleton. Initial responding officers from the Appleton Police Department suspected the operator, Mr. Zastrow, was intoxicated. Due to a potential conflict of interest, a Trooper was requested to complete the investigation. The Trooper arrived at the scene of the crash and made contact with Mr. Zastrow. Based on this initial contact with Mr. Zastrow, Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted. Mr. Zastrow showed indicators of impairment and was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated.

Mr. Zastrow was taken to a local hospital for a legal blood draw. After the blood draw was completed, he was transported to the Outagamie County jail and was booked on charges of Operating While Intoxicated- 6th Offense.
