The Manitowoc Police Department was rather busy over the extended weekend. Five total arrests were made, including one involving a 26 year old woman.
Police were investigating an incident at the corner of North 8th and Buffalo Street just before 1:00 Sunday morning, when one officer noticed a physical altercation happening outside.
The officer went to break the fight up and one of the men involved became confrontational with the officer. The officer took the man to the ground, and began to arrest him.
While that was happening, the officer said he felt a someone either hit him or grab his shirt, and when he turned to see what happened, a woman splashed him in the face with her drink.
The officer attempted to arrest her, but she continued to resist, and attempted to push her way through the crowd that had formed. The woman also had to be taken to the ground so she could be arrested on charges of Resisting an Officer, Battery to Law Enforcement, and Disorderly Conduct.
