The arrest of a federal fugitive in Beloit became even more dangerous when a crowd of onlookers thought he had been shot Thursday morning.
28-year-old Fabian Jones was considered to be armed and dangerous.
When he refused orders to drop a bottle of liquor and another object, he was shot with a bean-bag round from a weapon that looked like a shotgun.
Beloit police had to call in mutual aid from nearby law enforcement agencies to deal with the angry crowd.
When authorities tried to execute a search warrant in the house, one of the four people inside had turned on the gas creating the danger of an explosion. Those four are being detained.
