A Manitowoc woman was taken into police custody on Sunday after she allegedly attacked her boyfriend relentlessly.
Police were called to a residence in the 1200 block of S 13th Street just before 11:30 PM, the woman claimed her boyfriend had attacked her.
Officers noted that the 23-year-old woman was heavily intoxicated and her version of events did not add up.
The male victim, who was not at the home when the authorities arrived, came back to talk with the officers. He explained that the woman, his girlfriend, had attempted to punch him in the head multiple times, strangled him twice, and attacked him with a knife, potentially cutting his neck.
The victim fought back, but only to the extent of pushing the overly aggressive woman off of him.
She is now facing charges of Battery, and Strangulation and Suffocation, both with Domestic Violence Orders, as well as First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety with a Dangerous Weapon.
