A Manitowoc Lincoln High School graduate is one of the four recipients of the Karen Julesberg Scholarship at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Rebekah (Lazzeroni) Nteso received the $1,000 scholarship for the 2020-’21 academic year.
Karen Julesberg of Madison, a 1960 Luther grad has sponsored the scholarship since 2012. Lazzeroni Nteso and three of her classmates were awarded the scholarships that benefit Luther College students involved in the TRIO Achievement Program. The program promotes students’ academic success, personal development, and sense of community.
The Manitowoc resident is an Accounting major with a minor in music, serves as treasurer for her college’s Black Student Union, and plays in their Symphony Orchestra.
