Wednesday’s State Supreme Court ruling won’t affect “too much” if anything in the day-to-day operations at Holy Family Memorial in Manitowoc.
Tom Veeser is the Chief Nursing Officer at HFM, and he said HFM will “still limit visitors to protect our current patient population…we will expect everyone to be in masks, and we will be taking temperatures of not only patients, but visitors, as well as our doctors and our nurses to make sure we keep a safe and healthy environment for the patients we treat.”
The State Supreme Court by a 4 to 3 vote blocked Governor Evers’ extension of his “Safer at Home” Order stating his Administration overstepped their bounds by allowing State Department of Health Services designee Andrea Palm to write administrative rules without any legislative input in dealing with the COVID 19 Pandemic.
The ruling allows all businesses to reopen without restrictions and eliminates restrictions on large gatherings.
Veeser tells SeehaferNews.com that they (HFM) are working with multiple vendors in efforts to keep all as safe as possible. The local health official adds that “we’ll have to adapt to living this new normal for quite a while. I may be proven wrong but I don’t think so. Wearing masks-social distancing and the like could last In certain parts of the country until there’s a vaccine for COVID 19.”
Medical experts believe that could take anywhere from 12 to 18 months.
