Less than half of the ballots cast in Tuesday’s special election for the 7th Congress District were absentee.
This week’s 48% absentee portion is significantly lower than what was seen during the April 7th president primary when 71 percent were absentee.
Both elections were carried out despite the governor’s Safer at Home order.
Republican Tom Tiffany defeated Democrat Tricia Zunker in the race to serve out the remainder of the current term by about 14 points.
More than 85,000 votes were cast.
