A Manitowoc County COVID-19 online survey is off to a very successful start, according to Leede Research CEO Dean Halverson.
The local company leader said as of this morning, there have been 525 completed interviews, “well ahead” of projections for the study.
Halverson says early information from the study shows what the “new normal” might look like as communities and families adapt to these unique times.
It reveals we may be seeing the end of the handshake as a traditional greeting. While 6% percent of respondents say they’re comfortable right now shaking hands with a stranger,14% say it’ll be at least a year before they would do that, and 28% say they may never shake hands again.
Leede explained this is consistent with work it completed nationally in recent weeks.
There also appear to be future challenges for things like concerts & professional sporting events.
The research firm plans on keeping the study open through the weekend and will close the online survey late Sunday.
