State Senator Tom Tiffany won Tuesday’s special election to fill the vacant seat representing Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District.
The Republican beat Democrat Tricia Zunker.
Tiffany won’t have long to enjoy his victory, as he will travel to Washington, D-C next week to begin serving in Congress, then, he will be up for re-election in November – if there’s no primary challenge.
Zunker was the first Native-American to run for Congress since Ada Deer lost a race in 1992.
The 62-year-old Tiffany had been a state senator for seven years before running for the seat that came open when Sean Duffy resigned last September.
