
Last night at the Police and Fire Commission meeting, the Manitowoc Police Department reported that in April, officers were called for service roughly 800 times less than they were last April.
The number of criminal charges are down from last year as well. 125 adults were charged last month, a decline of 11 charges, while only 1 juvenile was charged in April , compared to 14 during the same time last year.
As would be expected with fewer motorists on the road, the number of traffic citations dropped to only 40, compared to 198 in April of last year.
The number of parking violations are also down drastically from 385 last April to only 23 this past month
