Drivers and their teams say they’re not sure what to expect if the races resume at Slinger Speedway Sunday.
They say they don’t know how many people they can have on their team and what it will be like to race with no fans in the stands.
The gates at the speedway have been locked for weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Promoter Todd Thelen says if the 73rd season at the quarter-mile track doesn’t open soon, it’s possible that short-track racing could be gone forever.
Slinger’s plan to re-open still depends on the Wisconsin Supreme Court overturning the Safer at Home extension – or making some other kind of deal.
