The Winnebago County District Attorney’s Office has cleared the Oshkosh police officer who shot a high school student who was stabbing him.
The use of force by School Resource Officer Michael Wissink was ruled as justified.
Teenager Grant Fuhrman told investigators he was stabbing the officer because he wanted to get his gun.
He said he didn’t know why he wanted it or what he was going to do with it.
Furhman said he didn’t expect the officer to fight back after he’d been stabbed in the back.
Wissink shot the teen to stop the attack.
