Sheboygan Fire Department Called to a Fire on a Porch

The Sheboygan Fire Department was called to take care of a fire on Saturday.

When crews arrived to the home in the 2200 block of North 8^th Street, they found that the blaze was contained to just the porch.

Both bystanders and police officers had attempted to take care of the embers by themselves, but were unable to do so.

The Fire Department says that the fire was likely caused by the careless disposal of smoking material, however the investigation has not yet concluded.

There were no injuries reported, and the estimated cost of the damage is around $2,500.
