Sixth District Congressman Glen Grothman is perplexed when it comes to what he calls “inconsistencies” in Governor Evers’ Safer At Home Order.
Speaking with SeehaferNews.com, he says small businesses are suffering.
Grothman told SeehaferNews.com, “When I do get around the district and talk to businessmen, that’s what I hear. Why does the little shop with two or three employees, or an owner there by themselves, why do they have to sit there and lose money month after month, and watch their life savings be drained, while Walmart and Target and that sort of thing gets to be open.”
Grothman added that the government decided that the lottery needs to be open but small businesses are not essential.
He wonders “Who made that call that we have to have people running around for lottery tickets, but you can’t go out and buy a shirt?”
Governor Evers said that he would “strongly consider” regionally reopening parts of the state, but is concerned that rural area COVID 19 numbers may not be accurate due to a lack of testing which he feels could lead to a rash of infections from people travelling there from hardest hit areas like Milwaukee and Brown Counties.
His Order is set to expire May 26th at 8 a.m.
