Many cities around the area have been working on putting together small business loans for the businesses that help make the cities what they are. Earlier this week it was reported that Sheboygan has already created such a loan.
We spoke with Manitowoc Mayor Justin Nickels, who confirmed they are also working on several things, including a small business loan. The Mayor said they hope to roll it out “very soon…to help bridge some gaps during these few weeks were they have been forced to close, or their sales are way down.”
The loan is said to be partially funded by the city, and partially by private donors. As for when this will become available, Nickels said the council will be voting on the proposal at their May 18th meeting.
