Holy Family Memorial announces that as they continue to adapt to the changing needs of the COVID 19 Pandemic, they are beginning to schedule medically necessary time sensitive procedures to meet the needs of its patients.
Chief Medical Officer Dean Pollnow MD says with minimal COVID-19 activity in our community “we need to balance that with addressing patient needs. We don’t Want people delaying necessary care and experiencing unintended health consequences as a result of delays.”
HFM has formed a committee of physicians reviewing all postponed surgeries with potential patients being prescreened to determine if they have had contact with anyone who had COVID 19, if they traveled outside of Manitowoc County within the past 14 days, and if they are comfortable with their planned procedure at this time.
Dr. Pollnow says HFM has added the extra safety measurers of masking both patients and staff, temperature checks of all patients and staff, and more negative pressure rooms at the hospital and Harbor Town Campus adding “This is on top of already rigorous cleaning processes.”
Dr. Pollnow emphasizes that it’s essential anyone experiencing symptoms of heart attack, stroke and traumatic injuries to come into the Emergency Room and that cancer patients, pregnant women and others with chronic or urgent conditions be seen in the provider’s office for some, if not all of their care.
