A 36-year-old Appleton man has been found competent to stand trial in Winnebago County for allegedly killing his mother.
Bradley Boettcher has a preliminary hearing set for May 7th.
Lee Ann Dorn was killed in her apartment February 20th, 2019. Boettcher was arrested the next day, but charges of first-degree intentional homicide weren’t filed until last September.
This week’s ruling means Boettcher understands the proceedings and can help in his own defense. His mental condition at the time of his mother’s death could still be brought up during the trial.
Dorn was beaten to death.
