A fire at a Sheboygan home caused the death of one of the residents yesterday afternoon.
The fire in the 2300 block of South 9th Street was reported to the Sheboygan Fire Department just after 2:00 PM, and when crews arrived they noted smoke emitting from the second floor windows.
As crews were sweeping the building, they located one individual, who was not identified, and transported them to a local hospital. They were later pronounced dead.
One other person was injured in the fire and displaced. Their status is unknown.
Details about what caused the fire, and a damage estimate have not been made available at this time.
