Although the doors to the Wisconsin Maritime Museum are closed, the institution continues to serve its community online.
Through their new “Online Resources Portal,” the Museum provides virtual field trips, downloadable lesson plans and activities, live streamed programs, and research materials- all for free. S
pearheaded by the Museum’s education department, the online engagement efforts are both educational and entertaining.
Recently, the Museum partnered with Wisconsin Sea Grant to live stream a fish dissection. Dr. Titus Seilheimer, fisheries specialist, discussed lake whitefish anatomy and took questions from viewers.
This recording and corresponding worksheets are now available in the online resources portal on the Museum’s website, WisconsinMaritime.org.
