The Green Bay Police department has reported that homicide suspect Waylon Wayman was taken into custody on April 26, 2020, just after 4:00 pm in Rockford, Illinois by the Rockford Police Department. Wayman is a person of interest in a homicide investigation that occurred on April 1, 2020, in the area of Clinton St. and 12th St. in Green Bay.
Green Bay Police say the arrest of Wayman was a joint effort between the Green Bay Police Department, Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, federal partners, and the Rockford, Illinois Police Department. Wayman is being held in Illinois on the Green Bay Police Department Felony Warrant and will appear in court in Illinois for extradition back to Green Bay.
Green Bay Detectives will be in Rockford to obtain the details of the arrest and attempt to gather information related to the homicide. Further information will be released after Wayman’s extradition back to Green Bay.
