Senator Janet Bewley of Mason is the new Democratic leader in the Wisconsin Senate. She takes over for Senator Jennifer Shilling of La Crosse who is retiring from the legislature. Bewley says she is honored that her colleagues entrusted her with the responsibility of serving as Democratic leader. She said, “this is a stressful time for our state and now more than ever, we need to fight for the small businesses, communities, and families that are feeling the brunt of this pandemic.” Senator Janis Ringhand of Evansville was selected assistant minority leader.
